Jon "JR" Rhoades
Hailing from Ohio and a lifelong Buckeye fan, JR launched The Big Ten Huddle in August 2022 to dive deeper into his passion for Big Ten football and basketball. Since then, he’s become a trusted voice in Big Ten football and basketball, earning credentials as a media member and appearing regularly on platforms like FanSided, Locked On, and ESPN Radio for his expert analysis.
When he's not behind the mic, JR loves spending quality time with his wife, Hannah, and their two kids, Lottie and Jack. He also enjoys cooking up new recipes and giving back by volunteering at his local church.
As the main host of The Big Ten Huddle, JR leads all basketball shows and most football episodes, bringing his love for the game and insightful commentary to each discussion.
Zack Gugenheim
Zack’s journey behind the mic started in college, where he was the all-around radio commentator for the Muhlenberg Mules Football Team. After earning his degree in Media and Communication from Muhlenberg, Zack shifted his focus to his true calling: ministering to college students through campus ministry DiscipleMakers. But his passion for Big Ten football—especially Ohio State—never left his heart.
In 2019, Zack returned to broadcasting with WGRC’s high school football game of the week. Two years later, he launched the Big Ten Football Talk Podcast, quickly gaining listeners from across fanbases and creating engaging conversations with fans of all backgrounds.
In Fall 2023, Zack connected with JR, and after a year of collaboration, he made the exciting decision to join JR as the full-time co-host for football on The Big Ten Huddle.
When he's off the air, Zack enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Heather, and their three kids, Shane, JJ, and Paisley. He also loves serving at his church, mentoring college students, and exploring new food experiences as a self-proclaimed foodie.
